At Levity, neural therapy involves the injection of saline (salt water) and/or local anaesthetic into traumatised tissue (usually scars) to neutralise any disruption the tissue may be causing to the body. The local injections are known to act as a circuit breaker which block abnormal neural impulses, and helps to re-establish normal functioning. The fluid injection itself also acts to stretch the tissue internally, which can become adhered and disrupt normal tension throughout the musculoskeletal system.
Neural therapy is great for c-section scars (often causing a loss of abdominal tone (around the scar region) and function - contributing to back and pelvic pain), appendix and other abdominal surgical scars, which have created changes in core and muscular function. Neural therpay can therefore be helpful for musculoskeletal pain syndromes.
Appointments are usually no longer than 15min in length. 1-4 treatments may be necessary depending on a patient's individual case.
