Far Infrared Sauna

Pollution, pesticides, heavy metals and alcohol all put a lot of strain on our detoxification systems.
Research shows that in a conventional sauna only 5% of your sweat is toxins and the remainder is water.
In an Infrared Sauna, 15% of your sweat is toxic waste ranging from pesticides to toxic heavy metals. This is because Infrared light penetrates 35-40mm into your skin and vibrates your cells, encouraging them to release their toxins through the skin. It’s a fantastic way to increase your metabolism and detoxify by simply lying down and relaxing.

What is "far-infrared?"
Solar energy from the sun covers a broad energy band including infrared, visible light, ultra-violet, x-ray and gamma rays. Only a small amount of these solar rays are visible as colours. The greatest amount of the sun’s energy output is in the infrared segment of the spectrum. This band of light is not visible but can be felt as heat.
The infrared segment of the electromagnetic spectrum is divided into three segments by wave frequencies and wavelengths (See Diagram Below).

Far Infrared rays have the longest wavelength of any kind of infrared light, and thus are the only kind of infrared light that can deeply penetrate the human body.
Far Infrared penetrates the skin to the “subcutaneous” (fat) tissues and is transformed from light energy into heat energy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any reasons I should not use the infra-red sauna?
Please note: If you have any health conditions, make sure you consult with your doctor before using the
Sauna.
- If you are using any prescription drugs, check with your physician or pharmacist for any possible change in the drugs’ effect due to any interaction with infrared energy.
- Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared rays and thus are not heated by this system, nevertheless you should consult your surgeon prior to using an Infrared Sauna. Certainly, the usage of Infrared Sauna must be discontinued if you experience pain near any such implants.
- Silicone does absorb infrared energy. Implanted silicone or silicone prosthesis may be warmed by the infrared rays, since silicone melts at over 200°C (392°F).
- Heating of the low back area of women during the menstrual period may temporarily increase the menstrual flow.
- Haemophiliacs and anyone predisposed to haemorrhage should avoid Infrared Saunas or any type of heating that would induce vasodilation, which can lead to the tendency to bleed.
- Should any condition worsen with use of an infrared session, infrared use should be discontinued.
After sweating in the sauna, how do I replace any lost minerals?
It is recommended to drink water while in the sauna and then replenish mineral stores with a mineral solution or a few pinches of high quality sea salt in filtered water after your appointment.

Why I like the Infrared Sauna!
I generally go to the sauna for a few reasons – either my body is feeling muscularly sore or I am feeling toxic from a bout of bad lifestyle behaviour!
I love the sauna as it’s time to myself, to just lie back and not worry, listen to music or read a magazine. I personally like to have the light off – it’s more tranquil that way and I feel disconnected from everything outside.
After the sauna I feel clean and invigorated. I feel like I’ve sweated out all the toxins both in body and mind, and my body feels refreshed. I have at one time or another used the sauna as a hangover cure and it works wonders.
For muscular pains too, it seems to heat and heal the areas more quickly than if I leave them to their own healing process.
I’ve also noticed that when I use the sauna on a regular and consistent basis and am practicing a good eating plan, there is a noticeable reduction in cellulite.
