What are you weighting for?

Winter is one of the best times to work at getting into better shape.

But before you know it, the idea of coming home to a hot shower or having a second helping of a nice roast dinner wins out and another exercise session has been missed... suddenly summer's just around the corner.

It’s easy to procrastinate or justify why your goals aren’t being achieved, so here are a few tips to help you move forward.

1. Define what’s most valuable to you.

You’ll always prioritise & have time for what’s most important to you. Think of the bigger picture and what means the most to you as a person.

2. Next, link your specific goal to what’s most valuable to you.

By going through and identifying all the benefits of achieving your desired goal and how it links back to what’s most important to you, you’ll begin to see that by achieving your goal, it actually adds to what you value the most.

3. Plan.

If you’ve linked up enough benefits, then your goal will become a priority and in your 168 hour week, you can plan your time and take action, for at least 3 of those 168 hours.

Here’s an example for body image written by a client:

1. Define what’s most valuable to you.

A healthy, strong and good looking body that is pain free and ensures I have a good quality of life.

2. Next, link your specific goal to what’s most valuable to you.

Goal = Get fitter, stronger and tone up.
Benefits = Look better, lower risk of chronic disease, more confidence, able to play with my children & eventually grandchildren, have a higher quality of life, feel more vital & energetic, less chance of injury, etc.

3. Plan.

Schedule 3 hrs per week in my diary to work on my body and fitness.

It doesn’t take much time to exercise; it just takes reason & action!

Inspiration (goal setting) is 1% and Perspiration (taking action) is 99%

Success = 100% YOU!
