The art of tuning into your body (and listening) so you know when you may need to back off your training intensity is crucial for your health & happiness.
If you wake-up feeling a little average after a big night out or because you’ve been burning the candle at both ends and your body genuinely does not feel like exercise, this is a great indication you probably need a work-in.
Working in means that you basically give your body an active rest, allowing yourself time to recover. This could be in the form of stretches, yoga, a walk or bike ride, massage or breathing type exercises performed with light weights.
If your immune system is getting challenged, it’s not wise to work-out. Working OUT is defined as expending energy, rather than cultivating energy by working IN.
Having high quality water & food (preferably organic) will also nourish your body and help maintain your immune system, which will greatly support this "work-IN" phase of training. Conventionally farmed food is sprayed with pesticides, fungicides, herbicides etc… These are made up of toxic chemicals which all add more stress to the immune system.
So to stay Healthy & Happy during the winter months and emerge full of energy this summer, listen to your body and honour your inherent wisdom by working IN and supporting yourself with high quality thoughts, breathing, water, nutrition & sleep.
