How can Kinesiology assist you?
Kinesiology is a powerful natural therapy which aims at uncovering and treating the core cause or stress behind your presenting symptoms.
During a Kinesiology balance we use gentle muscle monitoring to assess your overall state of health and wellbeing (physical, mental, emotional and biochemical).
The body is like a computer that records everything that happens in your life through cellular memory. Muscle monitoring is a technique used to tap into this wealth of information to help you understand what is going on and provides techniques to assist the body’s natural healing process.
“Your body knows what’s wrong with it, when the problem started, and what it needs to regain balance”.
Each treatment is individual, utilising information gained from muscle monitoring, to help you identify elements that are inhibiting your natural state of health.
What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology takes a holistic approach to healing and recognises the importance of all three elements of the body, mind and spirit in health. A fundamental principle of Kinesiology is that the body has innate healing energy and is always doing its best to bring itself back into balance.
Stress can cause an imbalance in the body on any level. This stress may show up for a person physically, mentally or emotionally and can present itself as depression, learning difficulties, nervous or digestive disorders or physical pain to name a few.
One of the strengths of kinesiology is that it is not limited to dealing with symptoms or ailments; it’s also a way of looking beyond the symptoms or stressful situations to the beliefs that are creating them.
Changing your core beliefs can create a change in your behavior, expectations, health and energy levels. In this way, Kinesiology taps into energies that our conscious mind, or more conventional modalities, may overlook.
Energy balancing brings a person closer to achieving any goal of their choice – in health, sport, learning or coping with life generally.
How does a Kinesiology Session Work?
Kinesiology is based on philosophies from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chiropractic understandings, Kinesiology uses muscle monitoring (biofeedback between the body and nervous system) to look at what may be causing stress in the body.
The human nervous system is designed to adapt to change or stress. When we cannot adapt efficiently, muscles reflect the stress in the central nervous system. This stress creates specific muscle patterns that Kinesiology can identify using ‘muscle monitoring’ techniques.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles, utilise the flow of energy in the body as it relates to muscles, tissue and organs. Stress can lead to an imbalance in one or more meridians; meridian energy can also be evaluated by muscle monitoring. Thus, using muscle monitoring we are assessing the body’s overall condition of structural, chemical, or emotional balance.
During a session, a Kinesiologist seeks to help determine & resolve the underlying cause of the stress response, rather than just treating symptoms.
How often would I see you?
This is largely dependent on the individual, and presenting symptoms. Many people notice difference after just one session and with others it can take a little longer.
Generally a series of three sessions is recommended and sessions might be 2 or 3 weeks apart. This allows for deeper exploration which can lead to more profound results.
