Revolution of Resolutions
by Peter V
Most people set out with good intentions to stick to their New Year resolutions, yet often find themselves revolving back into another year of excuses and un-achieved results.
The first thing to determine with your resolution is: Am I doing this for me?
The most common resolution set is weight loss. Yet if you are not fully inspired to lose weight, and have instead set the goal in an attempt to please someone else’s desires, you’re already set up to not achieving this goal. It’s much easier to achieve anything when you're inspired (from within), as opposed to being motivated (from outside of you) to do something.
The second thing to consider is: What’s most important to me in my life?
Our life demonstrates what’s most important to us. We can talk about the things that we would like, though what we actually have reveals what’s most important to us – which is why we have them! Consider what you spend your money on? How you spend your time? What do you think about most of the time?
These answers will help you see what’s most valuable to you.
Thirdly, you want to consider: How to make what's not currently inspirational, inspirational.
If you would like to achieve this goal, yet are not inspired towards its success, think about the benefits to you, and what is really important to you in your life?
Once you can link them together and see enough benefits to you and what’s most important to you, then you’ll become inspired with each connection towards achieving the otherwise motivationally driven goal.
Fourth: Set an action plan towards its attainment.
There’s an old saying: ‘God will meet you half way’. You must take action (taking responsibility for your 50%) and God / the universe etc, will meet you half way, with its 50%; by aligning you with the people, places and resources to help make it happen – there are no coincidences!
Set the action plan, to be realistic for you, allowing you to take small manageable steps, to ensure the sustainability of its progress and ultimately, the attainment.
Allow 2010 to be the year you set excuses & reasons aside and allow the best you to come fourth.
Remember: Your best is always under construction!
